What We Collect
We collect the information you provide when creating your account: name, email address, and dance preferences. If you purchase tickets, Stripe processes your payment information — we never store your card details.
Fraud Protection
When you buy a ticket or service, Stripe (our payment processor) automatically collects basic technical information about your device, including browser type and IP address, to help detect and prevent fraud. Location Data
With your permission, we use your location to show nearby events and professionals. You can set a home city instead of using GPS. Location data is never sold to third parties.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: show you relevant events, process ticket purchases, send event reminders and updates, and connect you with tango professionals. We do not sell your personal information.
Push Notifications
We send helpful reminders like “Don’t forget your shoes!” before events and “Hope you had a wonderful evening!” afterward. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your information.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data, or delete your account and the personal data tied to it, at any time — from Account & Privacy in the app, at lifetimetango.com/account, or by emailing privacy@lifetimetango.com. Account deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period (which you can cancel) and removes your profile, saved events and trips, messages, and memory preferences. We retain a limited set of records, in de-identified form, where required by law or to protect a shared transaction or the safety of others, as described in our Terms.
Data Retention
We keep different categories of data for different periods. Information you can edit or remove yourself — your profile, saved events and trips, messages, and travel and personalization memory — is removed when you delete it or when your account deletion completes. Records we are legally required to keep, such as purchase, payment, and tax records, are retained in de-identified form for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law, with your name and contact details replaced by an anonymous placeholder. Security and fraud-prevention records, including a one-way technical identifier retained only when an account is closed while under an enforcement action, are kept as long as needed to protect the platform and its users.
