The atmosphere will be perfectly set by DJ MJ, who is back in the booth to curate a traditional selection of tango, milonga, and vals. Our evening strictly honors the classic codes of the dance, utilizing the cabeceo for invitations and following the flow of traditional tandas and cortinas. This structure ensures a respectful and organized floor, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the music while enjoying the character of our beautiful hardwood floor at The Ballroom of Sarasota.
Your hosts, Mirek and Jenya of Lifetime Tango, are delighted to welcome you to the home of the Underground Milonga, a Sarasota tradition every Saturday since 2020. Throughout the night, we invite you to enjoy courtesy beverages and hors d'oeuvres while you socialize between dances. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming space for everyone, so please feel free to come alone or with friends, as no partner is ever required to enjoy the evening.

For our Milonguero Night, we invite you to dress to impress. It's a wonderful opportunity to put on your best and enjoy the elegant atmosphere!
Is the Underground Milonga suitable for beginners, or do I need a certain skill level?
We welcome dancers of all levels! There's a beginner class at 7:00 PM before the milonga starts, and no partner is required, so it's a perfect opportunity to experience traditional Argentine tango.
Where is the venue located and is there parking available?
The Underground Milonga is held at The Ballroom of Sarasota, located at 5660 Swift Road, Sarasota, Florida, 34231. We offer free and convenient parking right at the venue for all our guests.
What is the schedule for the Underground Milonga and how do I check in?
The evening begins with a beginner class at 7:00 PM, doors open for the milonga at 8:00 PM, and dancing continues until midnight, giving you four full hours on the floor. For check-in, please be prepared to pay $30 at the door if you haven't purchased your ticket in advance for $25.
What should I bring with me to the Underground Milonga?
Please bring your dance shoes to ensure you're comfortable on our beautiful hardwood floor. We'll provide courtesy beverages and hors d'oeuvres throughout the night.
What is the refund or cancellation policy if I can't make it?
The Underground Milonga sets its own refund policy, so please check the event page for the deadline before purchasing your ticket. You are always entitled to a full refund, including fees, if a night is canceled by the organizer, but service fees are non-refundable on a voluntary cancellation.
